Swamp
The swamp has always been an integral part of my and Jim’s life. The wildlife and habitat have taught us so much about life, love, and survival. The swamp often speaks to our hearts and says, “There is a living God.”

Trucks, guitars , and swamp life have been in my and Carolyn’s family for seven generations. We learned about life, love, and survival through the many days we spend walking as kids and today among the wild life in the swamps in and around South Georgia and Florida.
Folks often ask me, “aren’t you afraid of the snakes, gators, and four-legged creatures lurking in the swamps?” I tell them no. It’s those two-legged creatures that I watch out for.
We learned to make musical harmony through the many lessons taught us by watching a mama bear protect her young, or a mama gator remain near her hatchlings, or a family of otters working together to rebuild their home damaged by an act of man.
The transportation carrier industry can be full of swamps, bogs, and unknown and unseen dangers. Rules on Hours of Service, who must have ELDs, and interpretations of regulations varying from one DOT officer to the next can be harrowing.
When approached with a tough question from a carrier or driver ready to quit and give up over the regulatory ambiguity and confusion, I ask them what are they working for and what is their ultimate goal? I tell them our goal is to make a living and get home to our families safe and sound.
It’s when we work together in harmony that we can build our lives, reach our goals, and raise our families on what we know how to do and that is drive trucks, make music, and appreciate God’s beauty in nature.

Gator And The DOT; What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You
Gators can swim up to 10 MPH and run as fast for short distances; climb a fence to get to water or escape; their blind spot is directly in front of their eyes; and a baby gator’s bite can create infection and complications.
Like not understanding our country’s wildlife such as gators, as a commercial motor carrier or commercial driver, don’t let what you don’t know about the DOT rules and regulations bite you and create unnecessary complications for your profession or business.
Call us. Send us an email and tell us how many gators are in the picture for 10% off any item, training, or service.
And remember, team work is everything.
